  Name change: Photocopy of citizenship paper, Oct. 22, 1904, shows name change from John Albin Johanson to John Albin Johnson.(amagnifying glass shows a small 'a' inserted above & between the hand n so the names would match). Inscription in his Swedish bible or catechism book is signed Albin Johansson (1885). All other records only show the name Albin Johnson. The paper states that he came to the United States on/or about May 18,1887 and filed an application for citizenship on February 7th 1895.He was granted citizenship October 22, 1904 -Superior Court of Whitman County, Washington State (Colfax, Washington). The witnesses were W.J. Greer (known 9 years) and B. I. Beeson (known 10 years) Newspaper clipping: Albin Johnson taken By Death Born in Sweden: Came to United States in 1887 Albin Johnson, 69, passed away at the Potlatch hospital on Thrusday evening, August 24 (1939) following a lingering illness. Mr.Johnson was a native of Sweden. He was born in Farjestaden, on the Island of Oland, March 1 , 1870. He emigrated to the United States at the age of seventeen, coming first to Holyoke, Mas., and later to Colfax, Washington. On February 14, 1903, he was maried to Hilda Nelson and established his home in the Eden Valley community. Later he moved the family to Garfield, where he has lived for the past twenty-one years. He is survived by his wife, and seven children, two daughters, Nella of Pasco, Wash., and Anna of Everett, Wash., and five sons, Roy of Garfield, Verner of Riverton, Oregon, Rex (& Edgar) of Hollywood, Cal.,and John of Garfield; two sisters, Annette of Santa Barbara, Cal., and Augusta of New York City; and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held at the Christion Church Sunday afternoon. Interment was held at the Garfield cemetery Monday morning.
