New Era: Once again has the grim monster death entered our home and this time hce has taken the angel of the dear old home. Mother is dead. Rosa M. Harmon was born on the old Harmon homestead about two miles from Bolivar Westmoreland county Pa Feb 6 1829 She was married to John Glover in Bolivar the day she was 20 years old. She was the mother of eleven children. Six of her children are alive and five are in the graveyard laid. Mother became a Christian shortly after her marriage and she adorned her profession until the end and died in the triumphs of the glorious hope of heaven and immortal glory. Mother died at her home near Arlington county, Mo December 4 1893 at 10:20 o'clock pm. She was 64 years 9 months and 28 days old For six long weeks she lay suffering with paralysis and all was done that human skill could do to relieve her and guard off death but to no avail and so she had to go. Mother was loved by all who knew her. As a neighbor the sick and sorrowing always had her aid and sympathy. As a companion and helpmate the truest of the true. As a mother she loved as only a fond mother can love on earth. No wish of ours in youth that was within her power but what we had. No blessing of a mother did we lack after we reached man and womanhood. ln sickness was our best nurse in sadness our greatest comforter. But these are all past only to be remembered and cherished as fond recollections of a dear mother. The remains were conveyed to the residence of W. P. Hawkins where the funeral exercises were conducted by Elder Russell of Dixon assisted in song service by Rees Morgan of Newburg and Frank Paulsell of Little Beaver after which she was laid away to rest in the Hawkins family burying ground.
