  • Noteringar
    • After an illness of about a year, the last three weeks of which were spent in the knowledge that death must come soon, John Henry Fiddelke passed away at an early hour yesterday morning at his home near Germantown. Death was caused by cancer of the liver. Some three weeks ago Mr. Fiddelke went to Sioux City and submitted to an examination that revealed the fact that his time here below was of short duration. He received the news in his manly way, came home a week ago and made all preparations for the end. Deceased was born in Logo, Hanover, Germany, September 12,1868. He came to America in May 1883, making his first home in the new country at Matteson, Illinois. Five years later he found his way to O'Brien County, Iowa, where he made his home, with the exception of one year at Columbus. Neb. until the time of his death. He was married to Sophia Lustfeld, who with seven children survive him. The funeral will be conducted by Mr. Fiddelke's pastor Rev. O. Horn at the home and the German Lutheran church at Germantown at two o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Deceased was a consistent member of the German Lutheran church at Germantown. Information provided by the Paullina Times Newspaper. [3]
